José Candón Mena is a member of the Interdisciplinary Group of Studies in Communication, Politics and Social Change, (COMPOLITICAS) of the University of Seville. COMPOLITICAS is an academic group of analysis and training specialized in the theoretical, political and historical-critical study of the processes of development and social change around symbolic and infocommunicational mediations.
The academic philosophy of the group is to boost knowledge and more advanced contributions, seeking to promote progress in the organization, practice and representation of the industries of the field of communication and culture. It is Assigned to the Andalusian Research Plan since its constitution as an Academic Exchange Network oriented to the analysis of significant changes and structures in the information and public communication sector based on an open and integrating approach that seeks to link theory and practice, the thought and the cultural dynamics, from a critical vision and a culture of productive and emancipatory research.
